my almost perfect sunday.

it has been some time since my family wanted to do some farm visiting.. so today, with auntie cathie as our guide, we went to several farms. and they were all pretty interesting. too bad i din take enough photos..after the first farm we went to, i only had 20 shots left.. and i was thinking all the way that it's so impossible becuz i din really take that much at the first farm.. and then went i finally called home after all the farm visiting, lionel told me it's cuz i set it to 6megapixels. haha. how silly. and what a waste! i keep deleting all my photos to make space for more. argh!! oh well.. i did manage to put up quite a number of photos in this entry so be please patient, it should take some time to load this page. haha.. i'm just quite excited that i got the camera back in working condition. (*gasp* i realize i din blog about my thailand trip!! haha.. i shall do it sooon.)

anyway, so our day started bright and early, woke up at 830.. ate breakfast at home, met auntie cathie and drove down to our first farm.. it almost looked like another country.. not many cars, a nice sunny day, and there were quite a number of cyclists.. i wanna do that some time too! :)



farm number 1: goat farm .
we were there early enough to catch the milking.. very very interesting! haha.. i tot it would be done by hand though.. (btw, the milking is from 9 to 11 daily i think.. for those who wanna go.. ) see basically, they just put the machine thing and it will start squeezing the milk.. and they sell the milk.. although u must be prepared. it has a very unique taste! haha.. and if u absolutely hate goats, then please dun go there! cuz it's all goat's smell. haha..

tsk. the guy keep touching the goat's balls. haha. my cousin was saying to his mom.. "mom, if i put that on my thing, i won't get milk, will get urine!"... he's silly.

that's where the milk goes. very obviously. hahah.

after being milked, the goats will return to their cages.. and the next batch will be sent out. hee.


this is where u can feed the goats. they sell alfafa hay which is what little bunnies eat! haha..
they have another sign that says "milking mothers" and as u can guess, it's where they keep the goats that can be milked. think they cant mix it cuz if a bunk and doe meets, then the milk will taste different. haha
feeding.. that's my brother, my dad and my uncle.. see my dad patting the old goat. haha. maybe their age gap is not that huge, the goat seems to like my dad and my dad likewise. haha.

that's jet.. with the curly hair. he's so so so so cute! he was looking at the goats and said to his mom: "ma ma, that goat looks like dad!" and he was pointing to one particular goat. haha..

me again.. i like the blur shots.. oh! i have this photo taken with this goat biting my hair! haha. guess i was too close to it and my hair really looks like hay. damnit i knew it! haaa.
after feeding the goats, unable to pay for the hay that we used to feed the goats, my dad had to help them sell pineapples. sigh. haha.. no la. he was buying but he was so friendly with them that he was behind the counter!! the pineapples are really good.. and not too exensive too.. i think.

farm number 2: dragon fruit farm.
cuz of the heavy rain, there were not many fruits and by the time we got there, they sold all their fruits already. argh. but luckily i had some from there before.. the dragon fruit plants are like cactus.. it's funny.

me and my ultra spastic smile. i dunno what's up with me. haha. guess i was just really excited to see an unripe dragon fruit. haha.
they even have dragon fruit juice. but i din try.. think it would be too processed to be nice.

farm number 3: cow farm.
this farm was not as organized as the first 2.. it was kinda dirty.. the cows looked kinda dirty too.. and the pasturized milk is bleargh!
i think this cow is sick... it cant control its tongue!! it's everywhere! i took a video.. but dunno how to upload. haha!

farm number 4: frog farm.
before u first walk into this farm, u can already hear the frogs.. and they dun smell too good either. haha. but they're funny.

after seeing the live frogs, we bought some home.. haha. the look disgusting huh.. imagine just seeing them with skin a few moments before this.. eeks.
i helped choose frogs for my aunt and for ourselves to buy home!
when leaving, we saw this on the floor.. erm... (it's a frog's feet if u are wondering.. haha)

farm number 5: flowers farm.
had a really good lunch here.. had fish and chips, really yummy chicken wings, and chicken chops with mushroom sauce! it's a nice bistro called petals and leaves.. and there was a nice 9-hole golf thing there.. my cousins and i spent some time there.. and i got sunburnt! haha.. by this time, i hardly had photos cuz i had no memory left.. sigh. here's jet anyway, he's so cute!


after this, we went to a vegetable farm.. but then my camera died on me already.. sigh. so i din get any pictures! i sure hope i'm gonna go there again.. actually i think i will cuz it's just such a nice place.

after all the visiting, we went home, me n my brother went to the gym, showered and headed down to vivo city with my dad n sis. had some german food and beer at this place called brotzeit (?) pretty good food.. the beer is paulaner's.. so it's good. haha. but din get pictures too cuz the camera charger is with lionel and my dad's camera was flat from his trip too.. sigh.

so that's it. my almost perfect sunday.

unveiling my new laptop!

on tuesday, i finally got my new laptop... and here it is!!!

tadaaaaa.... a fujitsu tablet pc!!


haha.. as u can see, it is not very nice nor very nice..


haha. right. i borrowed that "piece of junk" (i quote lionel) from SMU since i lost my laptop it has been my source of entertainment. but it had no external CD drive which meant i couldn't watch my many dvds.. and the school restricted me to download anything on it. i couldn't use msn properly, i had no music, no movies.. and when i put the laptop on standby, and i put the top down and it turns on for some reason. luckily i returned it already.

anyway.... my new laptop is a BLACKBOOK (according to lionel, a black macbook is called a blackbook and a white macbook is simply a macbook.. how common. haha)


i had to tell my blackbook that i was the boss of him. heh. that's me sitting on it on my brother's bed. the lightbulb in my room blew but things around my room move slowly.. it's been a week and we haven't told my dad. haha. anyway... yup..

and finally, my blackbook.. ignore the fact that i look horrid. haha. i just got home from school and haven even showered or changed.. although lionel made sure i washed my hands before touching my blackbook. haha. how lame. but isn't the blackbook pretty? well, i think so!



ignore the wallpaper too. haha. i din have photos and that was the best i had in the laptop. it made the black stand out. heee.

see.. compared to mine, dun u think lionel's laptop doesn't look too good afterall? haha.. kidding. i think it's still pretty.. (just that mine is MUCH prettier. haha and u can hardly see the apple sign on his! hahahahahah) that's for always putting my laptop down in the past.. this is karma for lionel and his laptop. haha.



on other news, i received a letter from NTU sports club to join NVM this year.. i think it's cool that they do that! haha.. makes me feel good that they want my team to join again (although of cuz they send this to everyone who participated i suppose.. haha)

and i just heard from lek that one of my team mates' CC might sponsor us this year.. YAY!! i will save 18 bucks and still get a free t-shirt... whooopee.. although we do have to represent them so our team name might have to be "teck ghee CC" (pronounced as tecky CC .. haha..) oh well.. sponsorship still makes me happy. haha.

suspense.

i've been so stressed thinking which laptop i should get (if my dad allows)... haha.. the 2 chosen candidates so far are:

1. fujitsu tablet pc
2. black macbook

been thinking for the longest time.. the price, the weight, the hard disk space.. blah blah.. and now i think i've made my decision!! *grinz*

i shall reveal it if and when i get it.. haha.. :p

NVM 2007.

if u read my blog last year around this time, i went for NVM 2006.. 43 storeys. suntect tower.

this year.. the organisers (aka kenneth n his fellow NTU peeps) decided to change venue.. guess what. 66 storeys. republic plaza. raffles place. greaaaaaattttt.. it's damn alot higher!

although i am excited, i am getting a littler freaked out too... imagine the training. plus last yr, 43 storeys and we kinda wanted to die already.. this year, i'm just gonna look forward to the newurban male dri fit shirt they are gonna give out. haha.. and hope that my knees dun give up on me.. haha..

one month+ to go... wish me luck. for now, i shall hit the gym as often as i can.. but with the work piling up already, i foresee a tough time ahead... :(

2007 cant be that bad.

although i have nothing in particular to blog about today, i refuse to let my blog stay at the previous post.. it's depressing. haha.

actually, i'm kinda glad today becuz last night, i managed to chat with some "lost n found" friends.. kenneth was one of them. haha. we both agreed that we were being petty. but hey, i'm still really shocked at what u said. i think u know what i am refering to.. dun give me a shock like that ahhh..

regarding my laptop, i've decided to get a new one.. dunno what i will get but i'm thinking of fujitsu or apple. so we'll see...

oh! and derby finally has a new home. shall post up pictures when i get them. :)

i foresee a bad year for me.

today is the first day of school for 2007 for me.
today is also the day i lost my laptop.

(a not so) happy new year's day.

late last night as we touched down at changi airport, i felt a little relieved. relieved to be on home ground in one piece..

this was what happened:

on 31st december, new year's eve, my brother, marisa, lionel and i were happily watching 'the holiday' at one of the shopping malls in the heart of bangkok. about halfway through the movie, the girl sitting beside lionel starting having lots of calls.. and we got a little annoyedat first.. then they left.. then the people in front of us started to have calls too.. and throughout the cinema, u could see phones lighting up.. soon, the row of people in front of us left.. then more and more people left.. then my brother whispered to me saying "hey, marisa got a call from her friend that there are bombs in thailand.." my first reaction was "what? bomb? here? now? when? are u serious? then how? should we leave?"

then marisa left us inside the cinema to go make a call.. we started o get nervous.. really nervous.. because we see everyone leaving and we din know what to do or how to communicate with them.. soon, we left the cinema.. as we were trying to get out of the building, we see some shops pulling down their shutters while others are still laughing happily and eating.. weird but we din care. all we tot of was we wanna get the hell outta there...

on the streets, everyone was lined up at the sides of the road trying to flag for cabs.. then we called home.. i called my dad and i couldn't help it but cry. i was really really scared.. not knowing where the bombs could be, under sky train tracks, standing next to the road and in the middle of 4 shopping centres and with people all around me... i did not know what i could do. and it was so scary because at that time, i knew that i could really just die.. and then i realised how unprepared i am, how afraid of death i am.. but thank god i was not alone.. waiting for marisa's brother to come pick us felt like an eternity. on the streets, polices cars, ambulances flashed past.. we knew something happened somewhere down the road.. could we be next...

but thank god marisa's brother came after 30 mins.. and we went home.. at midnight, we were just glad to be alive.. really really glad. and we celeberated with wine n star wars.. but as we celebrated, unknown to us at that time, there were more bombs going off..

since we were flying back on the 1st. we stayed indoors, only leaving the house for a quick lunch. the streets of bangkok were unusually quiet.. there were fews cars on the road.. that made us really uncomtfortable and we quickly went home, leaving the house again later that day only to catch our flight home..


i spent last night thinking of how lucky i am. and about the thais who are feeling insecure at home. and then i felt depressed. now i know who my real friends are. who really cares for me n my safety. and who will not give a damn if i die or not. it's really depressing having to start my year this way, but even more so for the people who died from the bombs in thailand.
